@akumma I've been to one of these restaurants with an 8 course dinner (Herb Farm in WA). I was hungry in the end, and out $250 (+ another $250 for my wife). Other than wine pairings the food was fancily plated but tasted unremarkable. The only reason why this was worthwhile in the end is because we also ordered a tasting of some Madeira wine, which I never had before. But that was (IIRC) $100 extra. Other wine pairings were great as well. I'd love to have their sommelier for a more traditional dinner with traditional, filling portion sizes.

a meal there is 10 courses. so small portions x 10 will be sufficient for most. plus the whole point is to experience different tastes.

I've never been to such a fancy restaurant. I've been to what we call nice steakhouses in Texas. But his beautiful restaurant and the dishes make me want to cry. How lovely and wonderful how delicious.

Hehe I make tuna noodles as well but they're just plain pasta with canned tuna and cheese, as I typed that I just felt an unknowable amount of professional chefs cringe.
